Some biceps action from last night. Gotta love time under tension.
A hold at 90 degrees while doing 4 on 4 off repeatedly will really humble you. As you can see I don’t have a high weight, so nice and slow reps are the key to make your biceps fall off.

HOLY FACEBOOK MEMORY TODAY!
I remember this day like it was yesterday. Growing up, I was always the shortest and smallest of all of my friends. I had a growth hormone deficiency and had to take growth hormone shots for 2 years. I remember being so upset in 8th grade because my dress for the dance was from Limited Too (😂😂) while all my friends wore spaghetti strap dresses from Deb (again 😂😂). Fast forward, I became “average” height and weight and played college sports. I got kicked off my college soccer team half way throw my senior year and wanted NOTHING to do with sports, a gym, etc. I ate whatever I wanted, drank, and assumed I wouldn’t gain weight because of my growth hormone deficiency.
WRONG! I had gained 40 pounds in about 2 years. I hated myself, I hated trying on clothes, I hated wearing a bathing suit. How could I let myself get that way? One day, I had enough. I made a pack with myself to NEVER let that happen again and here I am, 4 years later, 40 pounds down. Was it hard? YES! Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY! 😊

Omega-3 fatty acids are key in decreasing inflammation naturally for injuries, overuse etc to joints and muscles.
The issue is that most diets include more omega-6 and 9 fatty acids a which actually encourage inflammation.
Omega-3s also help with joint lubrication to decrease pain with movement.

This last week has been hard. I've not been in the gym but twice this week. Coming off the flare I had last week and into the weekend, my energy level has been at an all time low. By the time I get home all I can do is go to bed. I've been eating as well as I can, but my appetite is almost non existent. We've been on a big job all week so that has taken a lot of energy as well as having to deal with a few other issues. I have been consistently getting in a gallon or more of water a day so that has really helped. I've been trying to stay on top of my supplements which is also helping tremendously. It's also been tough to get good sleep so I haven't had a decent night's sleep in a good two weeks. You would think I would be so tired I would just crash, but no such luck.
I have not met my goals this week and I haven't gotten nearly as much accomplished as I would like, but I have to understand that I have to get some rest and take care of my body. Sometimes weeks don't go as planned. This weekend will consist of a lot of down time and relax time. I'll definitely be getting some time in for myself to recharge and work on getting back to square one. I'll be working on feeding my mind and body well. I also have to understand that life happens for me, not to me. I am in control of using these hurdles for whatever I want. I am in control of using them for good and to learn from. I am in control of using them to further myself and others. I am in control of not allowing these hurdles to frustrate and upset me but instead see the good.
Life happens for me, not to me.
