I wish I had pictures of when I first started my journey. This is the only workout picture I have from back then, and I was already about 1 1/2 years into my journey. I’d probably already lost around 60 pounds. I still struggled to make it through a workout, I came in last place almost every single time....but I showed up anyways! Changes take patience, time, and A-LOT of hard work! When things get hard, that needs to be the time you push harder. It can be a slow process, this didn’t happen overnight, and quitting because it’s hard won’t speed it up! Before @macroholics I always quit, I never pushed, I always watched others succeed while I stood in the back. One day, I finally had enough. I knew if they could do it, so could I! So can YOU!

This week’s Saturday Spotlight is 2019 RHP Adam Parra. Adam will be playing college baseball next year for one of the top junior college programs in the nation in Central Arizona College @the_vaqueros . He currently attends Perry High and is one of the top right handed arms in the state. . AP is a true OG member of the #t3family and has been training with us he was just a sophomore and we were still in the garage gym. . AP is a physical presence in the gym with some of the top strength and power numbers in the gym. He is also one of the best movers we have and shows this off during speed work where he can dominate much smaller athletes. . Adam exemplifies a kid who works his tail off and is having lots of success as a result. He is known around the gym for a business like approach to his work. It has been an amazing journey with him so far and we can’t wait to see what he will accomplish this year and at the next level. . AP you have come a long way from that kid in the garage who wanted to quit when you couldn’t do bodyweight Bulgarians. You didn’t quit and quickly showed us the type of work ethic and drive many athletes lack. You are a testament to what you can achieve with hard work and consistency. I recently started doing front squats, just to mix things up a bit. They prevent you from leaning to far forward, which in turn helps perfect your form on the back squat. I really enjoy them to be honest. There are lots of advantages to this exercise, and I highly recommend incorporating this movement into your training regiment. I train legs three times a week, and I hit front squat right in the middle, going lighter to help with recovery on my heavy back squat days. DON'T TURN PULLDOWNS INTO ROWS: Lat pulldown variations along side pullups and pullovers are beat way to get your back wide, unfortunately very often they are performed as an inefficient rowing variation. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against rows, they are an absolute must for back development, but there are way better rowing variation the an in correctly preformed pulldowns. If you are going to do pulldowns, do them right. Use a weight that you can control so that you don't have to lean back to jerk it. I am currently leading a group of men through a 90 day Lean and Mean Challenge. I have eaten no junk food on my 2 trips to Cincinnati this week because I have no cravings, I fast 12+ hours every night, and I even got a midnight workout in this week because of an unexpected change in my schedule Monday.
