"Dul si pemburu kumbang"
Dari kecil hobinya ngumpulin serangga, sampe sering nginep di sarang tawon. Akan tetapi serangga yang paling ia cari dan disukainya adalah keluarga Scarabaeidae atau yang biasa dikenal kumbang, bukan Bambang sodara!
Keluarga Bambang Scarabaeidae sendiri kurang lebih 30.000 jenis.
maksud saya kumbang.

Throwback to 1999 when I won honorary mention with this drawing at the Armenian Allied Art Association Juried Group show. I was 17.
The drawing is 18"x24", on black paper and done with prismacolor pencils. It was done during my time as a student at Creative Hands Art School at St. John Armenian Church.
I never really enjoyed doing still life, I thought it was boring but I was always told that "artists should draw everything" I never bought into that but did it anyway and learned from it. It was exciting because this was the first time I worked on black paper and had to draw light instead of shadows. Doesn't feel natural at first but you get used to it.
I guess I should wrap this up with some moral lesson, IG users are big on that. 😉
The moral of the story, stop complaining, put your feelings aside and get to work and you'll get rewarded for it.
Students ask me how they can get better at drawing and I tell them to practice every day. Just like with anything, practice makes you better. Spending 15 min each day drawing something will make you better, just like going to football practice makes you a better player.
Sketching and drawing is a great way to improve your creative skills and start thinking in a different way. Art shows you that there is normally more than one way to solve a problem. Art encourages open ended thinking and creativity. These can be really helpful for personal development and solving problems. Skills you learn through sketching can be applied in a number of different areas in your life.
