And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? .

Baptism is to be done in the name of the Father, Son, and Spirit—this is what makes it “Christian” baptism. It is through this ordinance that a person is admitted into the fellowship of the church. When we are saved, we are “baptized” by the Spirit into the Body of Christ, which is the church. First Corinthians 12:13 says, “We were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.” Baptism by water is a “reenactment” of the baptism by the Spirit.
Christian baptism is the means by which a person makes a public profession of faith and discipleship. In the waters of baptism, a person says, wordlessly, “I confess faith in Christ; Jesus has cleansed my soul from sin, and I now have a new life of sanctification.”

Finally cutting something! Upgrading my jig before getting back to cutting rosaries.
Oh boy. Self control. Who wants to be the one to tell people they actually *should* stick to just the one cookie? Or chill with the gossiping. Or the take a step back from the anger/rolling of the eyes. •
Y’all. This particular fruit of the spirit is tough for me! All of the others (to an extent) are fairly glorified in our society—kindness, goodness, faithfulness—EXCEPT self control! In so many situations I see the statement “do what makes you happy,” “just be you,” and/or “treat yo self”. I’m not saying these statements are 100% off-limits to a person practicing self-control, but they certainly wouldn’t make fitting “life mantras”. •
Oh boy. Do I need more of this in my life! What if I did control my tongue? (I’d hurt my husband’s feelings a lot less, that’s for sure!) What if I did control my impulses? (I’d spend my money a lot more wisely!) What if I did control myself better and not give into every “pretty” desire that comes along? (I’d be a lot further along the path I *actually* want to be on instead of meandering around life in my late 20s.)
Oh boy, do I need something BETTER than myself to help me out here. I can’t talk myself into self control. In fact, sometimes the very most “disciplined” people are actually slaves to their to-do lists and can’t control themselves from finishing the “one last thing”. I don’t become self-controlled by tightening my grip. I become self-controlled by completely depending on God’s grace to change me, renew me, and set me FREE. •
Lord. I need you. I need you to change my life. Let me not try harder, work longer, make more lists, think smarter — but let me rely on you. Be all my heart wants. Be all my heart cares about. Be all I want to talk about - not gossiping. All I want to consume - not food or drink. All I want to achieve is intimacy with you - not my cleared to do list or booming career. Lord, I need you to be my everything. I need you to change my heart so that I WANT you to be my everything. You. Change. Hearts. Change mine and set me free. Amen.

Since living in Virginia, I’ve made it a personal goal to always have the Book of Mormon with me, whether that’s out on a hike or during our training exercises. During my morning study, I was reminded of a scripture that Elder Holland read to us while on my mission in Ecuador, “And it came to pass that as he read, he was filled with the Spirit of the Lord (See 1 Nephi 1:12).” That is the power of the Book of Mormon; it fills us with the Spirit, and helps us to recognize the Lords tender mercies for all those who choose Him (see Elder Bednar’s talk The Tender Mercies of the Lord, April 2005).
There is no fear in love But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment The one who fears is not made perfect in love

What a blessed day today. Amazing day of worship and afterwards our annual ‘Operation Christmas Child’ shoebox packing party. Seeing these children’s faces as they open up theirs gifts the Lord has given us to give them, watching the amazing testimonies of how these people’s lives were changed by the love of Christ, just from simply opening up a box of gifts that we take for granted everyday here in the US. Our idea of poverty and their reality of poverty over in these countries are quite different. Today was such a blessing. I encourage you to watch ‘Operation Christmas Child’ testimonies on Youtube before you shop for the holidays or accept gifts these upcoming holidays. Not trying to make anyone feel bad about receiving gifts, just want to shine light on these children beforehand so we can appreciate what we have. God decides what gifts will go to which children just like in this young woman’s story. It’s good for our children to see so they can appreciate what they have. These 3rd world countries may be poor in money but they are rich with the love of Christ and rich in the hope they have for eternal life in paradise with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you Samaritan’s purse, Billy Graham, Franklin Graham, Harvest Christian Fellowship, and all our brothers and sisters around the country who participate. Glory to God. #operationchristmaschild2018 #samaritanspurse #billygraham #franklingraham #harvestchristianfellowship #prayers #children #joy #peace #christmas #gifts #evangelism #discipleship #loveofgod #jesuschrist #holidays #saved

John 3:16 is one of the most popular & well known verses of God’s Holy Word! God loves us despite our flaws. He loves us so much that He sent His only son to die for us! Life with Christ has purpose, joy & peace! Life without Christ is a dead end! I implore you to seek Christ. Choose life, choose Jesus! Blessings my friends! 😇 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 KJV “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” Psalms 118:8 KJV “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;” Proverbs 3:5 NKJV “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 KJV
