Back to sumo after almost 3 weeks off due to an adductor strain. Definitely not my best execution on this set but I’m just happy to lift something heavy to get my confidence back. I brought my stance in slightly narrower today too, it felt good but I just need a little more practice to tidy things up and get myself ready for a solid pull in 4.5 weeks. 2 more heavy deadlift sessions to go 👌🏼

Disaster prone Deadlift today 😂 IPF spec bar sp a bot of a thicker knurling to get used to with hook grip. Managed a couple of broken up sets with 185 before I had to switch to mixed grip (because I neglected my straps) and then tore open a couple of calluses as you can see on this set 😂

Tracking your volume for progress is important, no if's, no buts… -
One of the most important principles in training and in-particular adding weight to the bar is progressive overload! -
By tracking your volume overtime, you can adjust your training from week to week to ensure you are consistently adhering to the progressive overload principle! -
The graph here shows a 4-week block with the volume increasing week on week before a deload to help rid the body of fatigue and allow the body to adequately recover! -
Deloads are important for keeping you moving forward, make sure you take them otherwise you may find yourself hitting a wall very fast! -
So how do we track/calculate all this and make sure we know when we are approaching out maximum level of volume and fatigue… -
Well, there are a few ways… -
There are a few ways to calculate the volume – sets x reps x weight, this gives us the tonnage – Use of the RPE scale – Monitoring your recovery -
A good rule is record total volume for 3 weeks increasing it then deload week after. Keep doing this until you get to a week where that volume for that week is too much. This is your baseline or MRV (Maximum Recoverable Volume) or whatever term you may want to use. -
Keep this number in mind and base your programmes off this. With this information, you will never overtrain and have a much more productive training cycle… -

It's clear that the bar in the UK as far as fabric quality in our niche market is quite low . I'm really quite surprised that as a small start up we are getting compared to the big fish already. Everyone has noted the extra softness in the line and were getting multiple repeat customers already.
Imo a fashion oriented PL brand doesn't exist and was a good move . Don't get me wrong I love my SBD and wear it regular and will continue to buy one a year but it's only one good option Vs the usual blood sweat and tears motivation on rough ass shirts.
Pretty proud how this launch has gone .

Tips - Bänkpress
Mitt första (och bästa) tips är att om du vill bli bra i bänkpress så ska du göra två saker. 1-träna sjukt mycket bänkpress. 2-kika in min gode vän @josef_eriksson
och hur han tränar och hur han bänkar. Han är en av världens bästa bänkare och har mängder med bra videos för tips/teknik.
Men utöver det skulle jag säga
1-Hitta ett bra, hårt grepp på stången, så brett som möjligt enligt din egen förmåga.
2-”Dra ihop” skulderbladen och bli kompakt i bröstryggen, skapa anspänning.
3-Brygga upp så mycket som möjligt, utan(!) att tappa anspänningen i bröstryggen.
4-Spänn bålen och flytta rumpan så nära nacken som möjligt. Utan att tappa anspänningen!
5-”Nyp” bänken med låren och plantera fötterna stabilt i marken.
6-Lyft ut stången och påbörja lyftet med anspänning i precis hela kroppen, från ben till bål till armar.
Tre assistansövningar jag personligen gillar för en grym bänkpress är FU-bänk (film), dips med vikt och ”dödbänk”.

Mini deload tingz. Buttery squats, even the single was relatively smooth and consistent. Really enjoy how much better my squat has come on. This is why I enjoy the repetitions of singles in my program. Squats actually moving fast no elbow pain so now I’ve reduced squat volume I hope this helps me. Elbow positioning is still an issue at times but it’s getting a lot better.
Bench was pretty solid, was worried about the benches at the gym but they have a crease I can push my traps into 😍 132 moved insane feel like I could have tripled it easy. The rest was boring grunt work, but moved and felt solid. ————————————————————
The gym itself isn’t bad for a short stay. It was nice not to squat with bumpers for once and the racks are a decent height so can’t complain. Excited to move on to better places ————————————————————

Specifically, how do you perform them for maximal Lat engagement/development.....
Clip 1: ✅
Chin tucked, vertical movement only, minimal/no momentum. This is the best way to properly engage your lats during the movement. If you’ve never tried it, give it a go. They’re seriously tough, especially when aiming to get your chin above the bar.
Clip 2: ❌
Head back, arched spine, loads of momentum and massively increased recruitment of the upper back/arms/rear delts. These still aren’t terrible, in fact @ohubb
performs a very nice variation of these which carries over well for bench press. But, if your goal is to utilise this movement for Lat development, this may not be the most efficient way.
Both have their place, but know what you’re targeting and how to do it 👊🏻👊🏻
