Winston Porter is home. 😢😢🐇💜Unfortunately they couldn’t get us fur or a snout or paw 🐾 print due to the nature of her remains post necropsy. 😢 ...... I’m super bummed we don’t have these memories of her and it breaks my heart knowing her little perfect body was pulled apart. 😢 .....
Till we meet again sweet girl. 💜
A lot has changed in 5 years.
I have found the tools, the total solution if you will, to MY health and happiness.
5 years ago, I was sick(and tired) literally with my autoimmune disorder wreaking havoc on my system. I was drinking insane amounts of coffee in attempt to gain energy while throwing off my adrenals. What did this do? Well, I was pre-diabetic and my anxiety was through the roof. I was starting to watch what I ate. We then discovered I was also gluten intolerant but I was far from eating healthy.
I slowly started putting my health first. I started learning how to eat healthier. I started learning how to control my health with dietary changes, and STILL am learning. I am looking to certify myself in one of those ways soon!
And I'd love to share what I have learned with you!

Keep telling myself this as my body is sooo sore! You don’t get results without work 💪🏻 It’s important to grow yourself mentally along as physically ! Get your mindset on point and believe you can do anything you set your mind too!
Teething babies? Teenagers with braces? Adults with inflammation? Copaiba is for everyone.
Chapter 3 talks about how important it is to express your emotions. Holding them in or ‘sweeping under the rug’ totally depleted your throat chakra... and what organ lies directly where the throat chakra is? #thyroid
Living with #hypothyroidism
means going through emotional and physical ups and downs. You may have times when you are depressed, have no energy to do even simple daily tasks, no mood to socialize and get out of the house or even out of bed... Support from family, friends and others is important to be able to handle these "bad thyroid days", find motivation and don't give up. Unfortunately, many thyroid patients don't have much understanding from people around them how challenging and demanding life with #hypothyroid
symptoms actually is. It is not easy to find people who fully understand and support you and If you have at least one person genuinely supporting you through your #thyroid
struggles, you are blessed! P.S. If you need help with thyroid treatment get your free access to our Hypothyroidism Seminar: The Right And Wrong Ways To Heal at http://outsmartdisease.com/seminar or just use the link in my Instagram profile bio @outsmartdisease
Having a bit of a Hashimotos flare but feeling grateful that I almost FORGOT that I have an autoimmune disease and that is a HUGE WIN 🎉
I can push through fatigue, I can ignore muscle 💪🏻aches (with BURN Bootcamp I am always SORE) but when vertigo returns it is GAME OVER until I recalibrate a bit and I already have.
The vertigo came end of August and I blamed the long car ride to NY 🚗 which may have been a factor with the stress of dropping off my kiddos. I 💙my boys! I 💙being a mom! Thank you @ddubs02
for loving me whether I am put together or hiding under a blanket early in the day!
I only post this to let others know that I understand autoimmune craziness and that we can make choices (nutrition, self-care, exercise, rest, support). Listen to your body, I am learning to be better about this 💤 😴

Incredible memories of beautiful California ❤️
Working from home - something I never thought was an option growing up. .
I watched my dad work from dawn (literally 3am sometimes) to dusk for years and years to build the empire of a corporation he now has. - And I always knew I was going to have to work as hard as him to get to where I wanted to be financially in life.
What I didn’t know was that I was going to be able to do that from home. .
My heart is so incredibly grateful for the cards I’ve been handed in life & it feels selfish NOT to share the opportunities God has given me.
So no, I don’t bust my butt hosting coaching previews & happy hours or share my soul on social media just for fun. I do it because I want to help others step out of their comfort zones & watch their biggest & scariest dreams come to life. .
You know where I am & you know how to contact me. Your life begins at the end of your comfort zone.
One week ago today, I left for Houston to go and visit my husband. He travels all over the country working in gas refineries, so we don't get a lot of opportunities to spend time together unless I take off to see him myself. I hate traveling. I don't mind going to new places, I just wish I didn't have to drive or fly to get there. I have anxiety, I get stressed out about every little detail. I am literally a hot mess and completely exhausted by the time I reach my destination...but, I am learning along the way. You see, traveling with an auto immune disease looks a lot different than traveling without one. Stress is a big factor with thyroid disease and it can cause so many crazy problems internally it will make your head spin. So, I have learned that any plans to leave my comfort zone come with a long list of must do's and must have's to help me, my mind, and my body deal with the stress. I can say that I have made lots of progress with this! We will get into this another time- today is about food. You know what my biggest problem with food is? I LOVE IT!!! Lol... Maybe I have learned to make it such a big deal because when my family is together after weeks of being apart, we go out to eat to catch up and we are once again, a whole family- all together in one place at one time...That is to be celebrated! I don't want to ruin those precious moments by nit picking the menu wherever we are, so I convince myself that just for this special occasion, I can have that cake, or whatever the temptation sitting in front of me may be. I yearn to be normal...just to be simple and uncomplicated for 30 minutes. Who else understands my pain? Some may say, Kayla, it's just food! You are being way too dramatic about this. I wont argue that at all, because these are also my thoughts! I know what I need to do, I know what is better for me in the long term, but I am weak and I fall into temptation. Every. Time.

This gel is wonderful for thyroid and adrenal health.
This is Molly's experience:
"I was drawn to the product for the expected benefit of balancing hormones - something I’ve been interested in getting ahead of proactively, as I have a long line of family hormone issues…pms, early peri menopause, acne, adrenal fatigue, high cortisol levels…etc. I’ve been on bio-identicals myself but got off of them months ago due to fatigue and bloating it caused me.
I don’t expect this product to be a miracle, but I’ve had more than enough benefits over 2+ weeks that I feel are worth sharing…
So far, what I’ve experienced is:
-Deep Sleep with Vivid dreams that I definitely remember -Waking up refreshed and rested
-Sustained energy throughout the day - not the jittery kind but more of a natural “feel good” energy
-More stamina during workouts -Heightened libido
-Overall feeling of calm and wellness, less anxious - mood is more even.
Less bags under my eyes
-Decrease in PMS symptoms (huge win for me) - I did experience a couple “tired days” but no cramps or irritability that normally plagues me for a few days.
I’ve struggled with anxiety in the past, which has been pretty good for a while but every once in a while I still experience it. I haven’t had any noticeable anxiety since using the product, quite the opposite - I’m way more ZEN (just ask my kids lol).
Comment below or DM me for info on how you can get this gel!

Just a rant about complacency. About how one person not taking their job seriously can effect delicately balanced chronic conditions. It’s a little hard for me to believe you ask these questions because you care. It’s not the doctor handling me the form to fill out. It’s the medical assistant who doesn’t even bother to try to take your blood pressure. Just can’t hear it so says it’s 120/70 (to a person who has hypotension and is happy when it 90/45). Then has attitude when you mention how surprising those numbers are. Come on ppl. My true blood pressure numbers are important to managing my conditions. I know it’s hard to hear my blood pressure. I know you most likely won’t get it manually. I know sometimes the automatic ones error out on me. Just say You cannot get it and move on. Don’t put false information into my ERM. I have the most caring and supportive PCP, who goes out of her way to help me find answers. But her support staff, not so much. I’m a non practicing medical assistant. I know how to do your job. It might not seem to be a big issue to you. “I just fudged it this once”. But it’s not just this once. It’s almost every time you take it. Only ones who admit they cannot hear it is the MA’s attached to cardiology. Thanks to you my PCP wanted to take me off the medication that I use to raise my blood pressure. I’m glad she actually listens and retook my BP. (86/45). Life is had enough without you not doing your job. Complacency has no place in a doctors office.

“Can I drink coffee while fasting?” is the number one question I get when I talk about how in my bootcamp we eat in an 8 hour window, which usually means your first meal is at noon.
The answer is YES!! Come on, do you know me at all? I’m drinking coffee right now as I write this post! ☕️
Hey, friends!!👋 Today on my blog I'm sharing something very personal with you. It's my story of my Chronic Lyme Disease journey thus far. I'm so nervous about this!! It has been such a physical and emotional rollercoaster. I have had so much pain and sickness from it. I haven't been able to work for years and leaving the house has been a struggle. I dont get to see my friends and family much. It has affected my life entirely. It was hard to write this story, but I want to share it so that people know more about Lyme and to hopefully connect with others in the Lyme community who have had similar experiences. I love to be able to support one another. My online community of support has meant so much to me over the years. It's so much better when we can be there for eachother. Click the link in my profile to read my story 💚
I am wearing this @awarecauses
necklace today to show support for my fellow Lymies and spread Awareness. Their company is so great because they donate 10% of sales to each cause that you purchase for. This necklace is obviously for Lyme, but there are many other causes to choose from so you can spread awareness for what's close to your heart, too. 💚
Thank you ahead of time for reading my story, it means so much to me. Please leave a comment about yourself and your journey, too! I'd love to hear from you no matter if you suffer from lyme disease or not ❤
Yesterday I combatted a whole lotta pain from jacked up muscles (see two posts ago) & I’m much better but I forgot to add collagen! Today I am.
This one is amazing because it’s tasteless & dissolves perfectly. I really don’t notice it in the drinks I add it to! Great in coffees, teas, soups or shakes! [Picture of Trim Healthy Mama brand Integral Collagen powder in a bag.]
I primarily use it for #guthealth
but it’s great for pain! #trimhealthymama
If this kitten had a choice, she’d be on my chest all the time. During today’s work out she was either trying to climb up my leg or play with my hair or lay on my chest. Good thing there wasn’t HIIT involved or things could have been interesting!
If you don’t know, now you know…but the goal of ALL our work is to increase overall metabolic energy production in the body. How does that happen? Its all about your mitochondria which are the energy producing parts of your cell. Remember, there are 37.2 trillion cells in the body and it one has mitochondria. So the more you have and the better they function, the more energy you will have. From the air we breath to the food we eat, our cells use that energy (oxygen + glucose + thyroid hormone T3) to produce energy which is ATP and CO2. This is why nose breathing and our Restoration Thyroid Program is so vital. *
Not only do they promote energy but they help with cell defense. They are your metabolism as they monitor and regulate so many chemical reactions within the cell. But just like you shift to stress mode when there is a threat of danger, they to can detect danger and go into stress mode. Here lies the issues, if we are producing energy, we are producing energy. Meaning, we cannot detect danger or fight stress. But on the other side, if our cells/mitochondria are not producing energy, detecting danger and in stress mode, where does that leave us? Energy mode is shut down at a deep level which surfaces overtime to us not having enough energy to get through the day.
How do we get our cells to produce energy…stress! As Hans Selye MD said, stress does not kill us, it is our reaction to it that does. A little stress here and there is good as it allows our body to adapt. But if there is too much, then our body will go into conservation and compensation mode. There has to be a balance that is why HEALTH is all about balance. Sounds crazy!? Think about it, we have always talked about how exercise is catabolic no matter how you slice it. But over time our cells adapt to these stressors giving way to the health benefits of exercise. This is why exercise is one of many ways to not only increase the number of mitochondria in your cells, but the efficiency of them. This is called mitochondrial biogenesis.
Can we talk about the selfie for a second? Raise your hand if you have ever felt personally victimized for taking a selfie? 🙋♀️
There is definitely a stigma against taking photos of yourself. Its seen as silly and vain and ridiculous and promoting an “Instagram culture” that is unrealistic or shallow.
FUCK 👏 THIS 👏 SHIT 👏
In a world where everyone is so hard on themselves and insecure and self conscious, celebrate yourself! Take the fucking photo. Rock some attitude and give us your best Cindy Crawford catwalk.
Sink into who you are and let it shine through your pores like a ray of goddamn sunshine. Let people see you. If you get a little attention for taking photos of yourself downtown during a weekday, own it. Let yourself BE the center of attention. Rock it. They may snicker at your “vainness” or how “ridiculous” you are but you know that having beautiful photos of yourself, as you are in this moment in your life, is truly a gift.
Plus, as a little side note to the mamas out there- let your husband take a photos once in awhile. You deserve a little photographic evidence that you were a part of the family adventures too. (You planned the damn thing, it’s the least he can do.) 📸@nikolaeats
Having the loveliest two weeks off work.
I adore my job and the people I work with. It gives me purpose, challenges my brain, allows me to see the world, and makes me a better human due to company values. Thanks @hubspot.
The last few months at work have been crrray. I've learned so much, and accomplished more. But I was reaching burn out. I know I was, and managers and mentors were killed telling me to slow down. But I'm a stubborn ass. And I'd do it all again coz this year has been my most rewarding at HubSpot .
Anyways, off I took myself, exploring Ireland, spaaing, hiking, gyming, brunching, and headstanding to my heart's content.
I've another few days off, and then back I go for our last quarter of 2018. More crazy, more pushing my limits and more achieving. Just the way I like it 😍 but I'll be refreshed and ready to keep chipping away at my goals and dreams.
Kids, take a break. #leastmode

Today I went to see my friends dad and his wife and to commemorate my friend on her on her birthday. It was so nice and sad. Afterwards I went bananas at the library where they’re selling off books cheap and as I stood there at the books I felt how my energy just disappeared. I felt the urge to sit down and I felt dizzy. At that time I’d been outside home for about 2,5 hours... so no, I’m not ok. Now I’m back in bed waiting for hubby to make dinner. Feeling dizzy and exhausted 😔. Tomorrow I’m going to take a blood test to check my thyroid... fingers crossed please! When I’m feeling alright I tend to forget that I’m actually ill so now I hope “it’s just the thyroid” making me feel this way so it can be fixed... #exhausted #utmattad #hypotyreos #hypothyroid #hypothyroidism #merightnow #krankgeschrieben #schilddrüsenunterfunktion #whatswrongwithme #selfie #selfieofday #dagensselfie
I haven’t posted in a while because I honestly haven’t been on Instagram that much! BUT I have had some weird changes in my health and wanted to reach out for some support and input from others that may be dealing with the same thing. Has anyone here started recovering from a thyroid disorder that can talk with me about what it felt like? I started a pretty powerful cleanse recently and also went full vegan for the first time. I feel amazing! Seriously used to feel so dulled down when it came to emotion despite some ups. No energy, I’d get exhausted just trying to do laundry. Now, for the past week and a half I’ve been bombarded with new energy and motivation, almost overwhelmed with emotions and just had the weirdest PMS of my life. I am feeling things strongly — everything from elation to fear etc. Was this normal for anyone else? Did your PMS symptoms change? Did it ever level out and become a little less extreme, did it go back to the way it was after a while, or was it something you just had to ease into and get used to again?
I’m really excited to be having so much energy and feeling so much, but I’m definitely not used to feeling life so strongly anymore. I haven’t felt this way since about 2013, and it’s exciting for sure! Just want to make sure this is normal, and not some weird phase or something else i should look into. Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated! ✨ I will also try to post more again, I miss using this account as an outlet.
Earlier today I had another visit with my endocrinologist. Since being diagnosed with Hypothyroid and Hashimoto's about 4(ish) years ago, it’s been an uphill battle. Blood test after blood test, increased and decreased meds, ever fluctuating hormone levels...it’s frustrating 🤦🏼♀️
Even after almost 4 years of this, and changing my lifestyle A LOT (I see you, Beachbody 😏), I left the doctor today with results that are still not excellent and yet another increase in meds. Ideal? No.
But you know what? I thought back to where I was 3-4 years ago when my levels were through the roof and my symptoms were completely unmanaged. So, I said to myself “Liz, this is PROGRESS.” It May be super slow, at times frustrating, progress...but it’s still progress.
Just like any change you’re trying to make to your body, your mind, or your lifestyle, it takes TIME, PATIENCE and a huge, heaping dose of FAITH. There is a light at the end of it all & you will get there. I WILL get there.
So, for all my fellow autoimmune and thyroid warriors out there, keep your chin up. It WILL get better with every test, every tweak and every bump in the road & we WILL beat this 👊🏼 🙌🏼

This week we are in question #2
you need to ask about your thyroid function:
This is by far the most common problem I see, and it’s one that being on thyroid medication does NOT help with.
Your thyroid makes about 93% T4 and only 7% T3. T4 is the inactive storage hormone that needs to be converted to T3 for cellular activity.
This conversion happens all around the body; in the gut, the liver, the brain, the muscles and several other places.
If T4 can’t convert properly to T3 you can feel hypothyroid symptom even if your labs show normal TSH and T4 levels.
The sad thing is so few doctors will test free and total T3 levels. WHY you ask?!?! Because synthetic thyroid medication is only T4 so they only test what they medicate for!
There are some medical alternative like a compounding pharmacy’s that will use T3 or a natural desiccated thyroid that has both T4 and T3 components. Those are better options but still not the answer because you need to figure out why your body isn’t converting so you won’t be dependent on medication forever.
The natural answer to conversion: first and foremost test the gut to see why you aren’t converting! While you are working on that piece support your body with the cofactors that help speed up conversion. These include selenium, glutathione, zinc and iron.
You also have to make sure you have adequate PRODUCTION of T4 (review last weeks post)
If you have been on thyroid medication with little to no relief or if you have hypothyroid symptoms and your traditional labs look normal your next step is to check CONVERSION by looking at free and total T3 and reverse T3 (more on this in a future Thyroid Thursday)
Life can be crazy. There are a million things we can NOT control but we worry about anyway.
Sister instead of worrying about what you can NOT control start focusing on what you can control. Everything else will fall into place.
For me that’s moving my body, fueling it with good food, getting enough sleep, and carving out quiet time in the morning for ME!
You got this. Give those worries away & focus on YOU! 😘
Julius Sumner reminds me of Dwiggins in so many ways. 💜😢🐇I sure do miss my boy. ....
One is his ability to always make the biggest mess. 😂I’m not sure what that toy did to deserve the drowning. 🤔🐇💜😍
So yeah I could ONLY share that FIRST pic all filtered and FUN and be like yeah workout is done ✅ and #ShaunT
kicked my a$$$$$$$!
But the reality is the collage of the SECOND picture was after EVERY move when I couldn’t find my life. 😓 seriously zoom in....🤣
I repeatedly said in my head can we be done? How is this ONLY 30 minutes? #humbled
Videos of the moves in my IG stories and I shared my income post from 2 YEARS ago....crazy how far WE have come (because I couldn’t do this without my hubby!!)
Yep! Even I struggle to stay positive.... and today is one of those days...
