The past 2 months I have been doing 30-40 minute workouts that included lift, hiit, and core work. Yesterday I did a 45 minute lifting only workout so I expected to be a little out of condition for that much lifting, but to my surprise I was wrong. If anything I felt even stronger the entire workout which was crazy! I’ve been working out less than I ever have but I’m in better condition! Leg day finisher 🔥 3 x 12 on each leg. My faaavorite is walking into the gym determined to kill my legs and not stopping until it’s done. Lifting heavy weight and then finishing off by doing fast reps of these body weight exercises is what ensures that for me. Give it a try!

🧘🏻‍♀️My first ever yoga class that was all mine, not just subbing for someone, was at a gym in New Jersey. It was an all female gym and my class was small but mighty. It grew over the two years I taught there, as I cut my teeth as a new yoga teacher. I learned to really teach with my own words, not just repeat what my teachers said. I learned what it meant to teach people who weren’t already doing yoga like at the studio. I learned to be humble and fail as often as I succeeded. It was an hour a week but I think back to those times with love and gratitude. 🧘🏻‍♀️There’s a bit of a stigma to teaching at a gym, like maybe it’s not real yoga or something. When I teach, it’s always real yoga for real people no matter the location. So many people could use a good stretch, a deep breath and maybe find a connection within along the way. 🧘🏻‍♀️Currently I’ve been teaching at the gym where I work out. The gym has helped me to tap into my own strength and then be able to lead others through a class that compliments the tough, high-intensity workouts. I love guiding people through yoga that may never have found their way onto a mat otherwise. What a great honor. I’m not going to get results working out just 4 days a week for only 30-40 minutes. 🙅🏻‍♀️False . I’ll just bulk up if I Lift weights 🙅🏻‍♀️False . These were all things “Truths” that I told myself before I got started my newest program. Turns out... none of them were true! .
