Heel veel mensen denken dat ik nóóit meer op mijn gewicht hoef te letten na mijn gastric bypass operatie, maar dat is niet waar. Ik moet net zo mijn best doen om op gewicht te blijven; want bij mij gaat het "ieder pondje gaat door het mondje" ook nog steeds op. Kilo's, het blijft een "gevecht". Ondanks dat ik heel erg tevreden ben met mezelf, over hoe ik er nu uitzie ben ik niet tevreden met wat de weegschaal mij gisteren zei...dus we gaan weer even een standje bijzetten met sporten en gebalanceerder eten 💖 hoe gaan jullie om met gewichtstoename? Direct actie ondernemen of accepteren zoals het is?
Have a lame selfie of me because I did some cardio and did the Bondi to Bronte walk all on my lonesome. And man it felt good. Although I'd rather have some lovely company by my side to enjoy this beautiful country, it's so important to be comfortable being alone. You learn a lot about yourself when you conquer things independently - not just life's challenges but all things happy & glittery as well!

Took a week off and ate Mac n cheese almost everyday. That’s still balance right?
I did not go to the gym yesterday because I ended up sleeping for about 12 hours. Totally. Worth it. I did however go hard today and did an extra 30 mins. 👏🏻 I can remember times in the past when I tried to lose weight where if I messed up with eating or didn’t exercise, it was a slippery slope that led to stopping all together. It’s great that I’ve had the mindset switch to now only be more motivated when it happens and not dwell on it. I’ve realized losing weight for me is so much more about the mental aspect of it rather than going overboard with the gym or with a squeaky clean diet.
Grab your sliders/socks/towels/kitchen cloths/whatever you have that slides and get ready… to slide, no surprise here 😂
You’ll see it’s more challenging than it looks!! Especially the first exercise, I thought I could do it without holding on to the wall but NO WAY 🙅♀️ I almost ended up doing the split against my will 😂😂
1️⃣ Sliding reverse lunges with pulse, 12 reps 3 sets each leg 👉🏽 as you squat down, you must push your hips backward so that your front knee won’t go past your toes (which is key to avoid hurting yourself) and try holding a chair or the wall to help with balance (and avoid doing the split 🕺)
2️⃣ Sliding curtsy lunges, 10 reps 3 sets each leg 👉🏽 I apologize for the view 😭 I totally recommend holding something in front of you! Bring your sliding leg far enough to get a good stretch in your other leg (in your glutes)
3️⃣ Sliding hip adduction, 10 reps 3 sets 👉🏽 keep your core tight & your back flat as shown on the vid and go only as far as your mobility allows you (or you’ll end up stuck in an awkward position crying for help 😿)
4️⃣ Sliding hamstring curls, 10 reps 3 sets 👉🏽 keep your core engaged here too and extend your legs as far as you can. For an easier version, alternate legs with both legs on the ground and for a harder version, lift one leg and do single leg ham curls 🔥
5️⃣ Sliding one-legged squats, 8 reps 3 sets each leg 👉🏽 that’s an easier version than pistol squats but it’s still hard 😂 make sure your knee doesn’t go past your toes as you squat down (that’s why I can’t go lower than this for now)

Why self care matters (and isn't 'woo')...🤔
I used to eye roll when I heard the concept of self care. I thought it was something fluffy and involved painting your nails, sitting in a bath and pretending everything was awesome. I didn't think that it mattered so I never thought it was worth my time. I've since changed my view, both on what self care looks like and the importance of it. Here are 3 reasons why self care matters:
1. Builds self-awareness: Spending time with yourself is really valuable. You get to know yourself much better, which means that you learn what activities you like or dislike, what makes you happy and how to best negotiate relationships with others. Being able to enjoy your own company is also a great skill! 🤓
2. Maintains sense of balance: Despite what social media tells you, it’s important to have a healthy balance between fitness, work, life etc. A lack of balance over a long period of time can lead to feeling burned out, physically and mentally, which will make you less focused and less able to work towards your goals. 🧐
3. Helps you manage stress: Stress can be useful sometimes as it can be a boost to get things done. However, too much is detrimental so it’s important to counterbalance stress with something you enjoy that you find relaxing. Self care can help you to manage your stress, boost your mood and energy as well as helping you feel good about yourself. 😊
So whatever self care looks like for you, be sure to make time for it regularly so you can be at your best, mentally and physically. 😌

Pulled 200lbs on deads for my AMRAP tonight and got 10!
Squats were just an accessory tonight. 145lbs×3×5, last set shown.
Also, I worked a little on rack pulls as well. I did them a little higher because my sticky point on deadlifts is pretty high, and I decided to try 315. Just to hold the weight in my hands felt absolutely fucking amazing. 🤙
