Is that enough equipment for one person?! I thought so, and yet as class progressed I had to go get additional weights and bands 🤣 So my energy is through the roof again. I had my physical last week and my blood work showed that I was anemic! Again! My husband could not believe it! He was like: " you are eating so much meat!!!" According to my doctor (who is brilliant btw, an MD with an open mind and appreciation for natural medicine) my low iron us due to my extremely heavy periods. I am working on managing those with natural progesterone and it works wonders, but in a mean time I am taking #ferritin supplement and after only a few days feel a huge difference! My energy is crazy! I am back in the gym 💪 working hard, lifting 🏋️‍♀️ taking hot yoga. Waking a lot while my youngest is at her practices. It's an amazing thing what one can accomplish working with a great doctor. Как и обещала, пробегусь по биохимическому анализу крови. ✅Ferritin- белок, который депонирует железо(Fe) ❤️Ваша норма ферритина д. б. такая как Ваш ВЕС! Но не ниже 50ng/ml. ✅Если ниже = предлатентный дефицит Fe (хотя и само Fe м. б. пока в норме) ✅Высокий ферритин 150-300 ng/ml маркер острой фазы воспаления, ищем причину. Поддерживаем печень (см. слайды), избегаем стресса, подключаем спорт и свежий воздух. ✅Сдаём CRP, ESR, гомоцистеин, фибриноген и sTfR уровень растворимый рецепторов трансферрина. ⬆️sTfR= есть дефицит Fe ⬇️или N sTfR= м. б. Анемия хронических заболеваний, идём к врачу. ✅Общая железосвязывающая способность ОЖСС (TIBC) в N 45-77 мкмоль/л ⬆️TIBC = анемия ⬇️TIBC меньше 45, то исключаем дефицит цинка, смотреть чтобы не было низким Fe, щелочная фосфатаза, низкий трансферрин. ✅Общий белок TP: норма 6.6-8.3 g/dL. Идеально от 7.7 ✅Альбумины ALB норма 3.5-5.2 g/dl. Идеально 4.5 Белок, это строительный материал клеток, ферментов,тканей. У белка множество важнейших функций, помним, что в дефицит не уходим. . Диагностика анемий⠀ ⠀ Про анемию у маленьких детей я напишу подробный и большой материал, сегодня только о самом основном и об анализах. ⠀ ⠀ Когда можно заподозрить анемию у ребёнка:⠀ 📍ребёнок бледный (стопы и ладони равномерно бледные - нет красной части по краям)⠀ 📍шершавая, сухая кожа⠀ 📍ангулярный стоматит, болезненные трещины в уголках рта⠀ 📍ломкость и тусклость волос, их выпадение, матовость и ломкость ногтей, разрушение зубов⠀ 📍отстает в физическом и психомоторном развитии⠀ 📍плохо и избирательно ест, категорически отказывается от мяса⠀ 📍быстро устаёт⠀ 📍рождён прежде срока или от многоплодной беременности ⠀ 📍у мамы в беременность был снижен гемоглобин, у мамы анемия ⠀ ⠀ У взрослых женщин и подростков-девочек не надо ничего подозревать - надо просто сдать общий анализ крови и ферритин.⠀ ⠀ Что смотрим в анализе (ОАК):⠀ 📍гемоглобин HGB⠀ 📍эритроциты RBC⠀ 📍средний объём эритроцитов MCV⠀ 📍среднее содержание гемоглобина в эритроците MCH⠀ 📍относительная ширина распределения эритроцитов по объёму RDW⠀ 📍гематокрит HTC⠀ ⠀ Если ребёнок перенёс острое заболевание, то результат будет показывать постинфекционную анемию. Через 2-3 недели после выздоровления показатели должны вернуться к норме. One of my current coaching clients who came to me after being told they were ‘pre diabetic’ due to increased HBA1C levels and needed metformin the blood sugar controlling medication. I’m not a big fan of either the term pre-diabetes or metformin. Here’s why: 📖 📘 Pre diabetes always reduces the mechanism to a simplistic blood sugar level without understanding some of the current issues about relying on blood sugar tests, which have broader biological implications. 📘 📙 Blood sugar levels can most of the time be improved by regular eating, which lowers the stress hormones and allows hormones of organization to respond efficiently. This client was actively encouraged to eat salty and sugary snacks with protein and moderate fat between meals. Yesyerday Anthony has his blood drawn in the infusion center for the first time in the last 2 weeks. His hemoglobin dropped some but still within normal range. His ANC is at 1,001 (slowly trending upward). . . In addition to his routine lab tests I requested to have his iron levels checked. In Anthony’s last MRI it stated "There is T2 hypo intense signal of the liver and spleen, likely post treatment related hemosiderosis." So I asked his Oncology NP if this is related to all the blood transfusions that he has received which have caused iron overload in the tissues. Her response was that they see evidence of iron overload on MRIs of patients who have gotten any blood transfusions. . . Ferritin levels are indicated on a laboratory test that indirectly measures the amount of iron in a patient's body. Normal ferritin levels change as children age, but they typically fall between 6 and 55 ng/mL. We received Anthony’s result back and it is at 2,120ng/ml which is extremely high. . . Hemosiderosis is focal deposition of iron that does not cause tissue damage (this is what was noted in the MRI) However, with a high ferritin level it could be diagnosed as Hemochromatosis (iron overload) which is a typically systemic process in which iron deposition can cause tissue damage. Unfortunately this is a potential secondary cause to receiving multiple blood transfusions. . . His Oncology team has ordered for him to have a MRI of his heart, abdomen and pituitary gland to further evaluate, since iron overload can affect the pancreas, gonads, and pituitary gland, liver and heart. Please keep Anthony in your prayers that his organs have not been affected. . . Again as a bit of advice, never settle for hearing that tests are normal. Having low iron or ferritin levels is one of the hardest things to experience as a runner because it not only affects you’re training and performances but also your life. . When low on iron or ferritin you feel: 💤constantly tired and want to nap all the time 🚫unmotivated to run or get out of bed ‼️and for runners sometimes it can feel like you’ve overtrained . I totally felt all these before and after CIM and was encouraged by my coach @spacecityracing to get my ferritin and other labs checked. Luckily I was not anemic, but I had suboptimal levels of FERRITIN. Meaning- my ferritin could be A LOT BETTER. . I started on a supplement right away and started adding more of the iron rich sources above with Vitamin C rich foods to improve my levels. 6-8 weeks later I’m feeling sooo much better. . Tips for improving iron: 🍊eat iron rich sources and pair worth vitamin c to help it absorb better 🥛avoid calcium rich-dairy foods around taking your iron supplement or iron rich meals! It counteracts the absorption!! 🍳cook with an iron cast skillet ⬇️reduce your training load to help your body build itself up again with enough iron/ferritin/red blood cells . Morale of the story: KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. The more you know how your body is doing and take ACTION the better you can take care of it.

Starting my 10km training today. . I don’t run that much and don’t usually go the 10km distance. 🏃‍♀️. . Insanity work out and a run to the doctors and back. Needed to get my iron levels checked as they were pretty non existent in January so have been waiting on my diet and taking iron tabs. Will see what they are life today and whether I need to stay on iron or not? . . HITT workouts helps with cardio training and make me feel good so I will keep doing them and start increasing my running gradually. 2km done today 👍🏻👍🏻. . Heme iron is absorbed at a higher rate than non-heme iron, which means the body absorbs easier from animal products. Vegetarians find their iron in many places, but they need to plan ahead as they could miss out on B12 too. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and i struggle with it. We don’t eat eggs🍳 anymore due to the kids egg allergy and they do not agree with my tummy. That’s made breakfast tough for me. Did you know it should be your biggest meal of the day? Most people skip breakfast or are in such a hurry they grab something small. • • I am low in iron stores (ferritin) so i am working on adding more iron into my daily routine with food. I am doing this by adding in more green leafy vegetables, liver pills (not sure i’m ready to try liver yet, i may try opening the pills and adding to a dish🤔) and cooking in a cast iron pan a few times a week. • • I had no idea what to eat this morning so i just threw sausage on a mix of lettuce🥬 and plopped on a lemon🍋 garlic dressing and some pumpkin seeds. It did the trick. Eating greens in the morning really gives me more energy and i just feel better. Bought this off Amazon to try as I’ve heard so many good things about it, you add it to boiling water for 10 mins with something acidic (like a couple of drops of lemon juice or something) then remove the iron fish and put the food you’re cooking in the water eg .Gf pasta and then you have iron rich pasta etc! I find iron pills mess my stomach up so this is a natural, side effect free way of increasing iron levels. It’s important to have good ferritin levels with hashimotos to help with thyroid hormone conversion, hair loss etc. Using it for the first time tonight so hopefully it will work well over time. 🤞🏻

Merhaba arkadaşlar bugün size kansızlıkla ilgili bir bilgi vereceğim. Öncelikle çoğu demir eksikliği kan sayımından değil “ferritin” değerinden anlaşılıyor. Benim sürekli kan sayımımdan bakılarak kansızlığımın olmadığını söylediklerinden çok sürünmüştüm. Çok şükür ki iyi bir doktora gidince iş çözüldü. Gelelim tedavi de işimize yarayacak bilgiye; Doktorlarımızın verdiği kan ilacını c vitaminiyle beraber(örneğin portakal suyu) alırsak, hapın direk emilimi sağlanıyor ve değer hapı tek almanıza kıyasla 10 kat daha etkili oluyor. Ancak bu bilgiyi her doktor vermiyor. Ben senelerdir kansızlık tedavisi gören biri olarak bu yöntemle 1 sene de aldığım sonucu 2 ayda aldım. Biliyorsunuzdur ama şunu da belirteyim; kan hapı içtikten sonra en az 2 saat çay tüketmemeniz gerekiyor. Had my blood work done today! I try to go every 4mos to get markers like Ferritin and Vitamin D checked. These are two very important tests for runners to help you stay healthy and strong. . Ferritin is the iron stores in your body which help transport oxygen to your muscles when running. Vitamin D is important for bone health and immune system function. . The Olympic Training Center suggests to have both these markers over 50. If you’re feeling tired, susceptible to illness, have a history of bone injuries, it would be worth asking your doctor about getting these tests done (among others the doc might recommend)! Jag har haft den bästa veckan på väldigt, väldigt länge. Despite donning my funday hat, today's run was everything but fun. I highly do not recommend running with an iron deficiency. I mean it's doable. The good days ebb and flow but lately running has been feeling brutally challenging. I just can't seem to get enough air to breathe, I'm having a hard time keeping my heart rate from jumping into the 200+ beats per minute range and my legs and lungs feel like they are suffocating. - I’m always dizzy and cold and falling asleep at 8:00 PM on the couch has started to become a thing. It's coming up on two years now that I have been getting my ferritin levels tested every two months and time and time again it either hoovers at the same level, drops or doesn't improve at all despite eating iron-rich foods and maintaining a rigorous and religious supplementation regime. - I. Am. So. Effing. Done. Is there a planet where you can run and not require oxygen? At this point I'm thinking it will be easier to build a spaceship to get there than fix this iron absorption shit show. 🤬 #mood

Possibilities include poor absorption, blood loss, or poor diet. • Remember, ferritin will also increase (in some people) with inflammation. I have constantly observed over the past 22 plus years and experienced with my own health challenges those mood crashes. This reaction is not purely thoughts driven, there is a chemical imbalance going on. The runners high comes from #endorphins and is what makes us weirdos #loverunning although most of us would attest to having a love hate relationship with it 😂 🤸‍♀️ 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ #athletes and in particular #enduranceathletes also usually have a compromised gut microbiome, low levels of #iron and #ferritin stores for reasons I won’t go into now. A compromised gut communicates to your brain via your #vagusnerve and research shows the #braingutconnection is real and is linked with depression and anxiety among many other conditions. Eisenmangelanämie || Was ist das? Frau Muster nimmt zu wenig #eisen über die Nahrung auf und bemerkt den entstehenden Mangel inkl. der Symptome nicht, weil das Thema einfach garnicht bewusst oder oft auch nicht bekannt ist. Nun führt sie leider durch die Ernährung und auch so kaum noch Eisen hinzu, sodass der Körper auf die Reserven von Frau Muster zurück greift. Das muss er tun, um die Körperfunktionen aufrecht zu erhalten! Das geht jetzt über eine längere Zeit so. Irgendwann kommt es dann zu einer #blutarmut , da die roten Blutkörperchen nicht mehr zügig nachproduziert werden können. Jetzt hat Frau Muster weniger Blut im Körper, genannt "Eisenmangelanämie". #eisenmangel #eisenmanfelanämie Genaue Ursachen können aber nicht nur die Ernährung bzw. eine nicht ausreichende Aufnahme von Eisen sein. Frau Muster könnte auch eine Erkrankung haben, die die Eisenaufnahme hemmt, oder sie hat einfach einen höheren Eisenbedarf, welcher nicht gedeckt wird. Ein weiterer Grund für einen Eisenmangel kann aber auch ein verstärkter Verlust von Eisen sein. Symptome von Eisenmangel? Ferritin değeri kadında 10-20 ng/ml olması gerekirken benim en son tahlilimde bu değer 3.5. 4 5 senedir canla başla uğraşıyorum bunu yükseltmek için. Demirin vücuttaki etkileri çok çok önemli çünkü. Canla başla çalışıyorum derken yaptığım şey doktora gidip tahlil yaptırmak sonra ilaç kullanmak. Çok bişey yapmamışım aslında. Her doktorun söylediği şey et ve sakatat ye demek oldu. Ama sürekli et yemeyi seven birisi değilim. Şimdi kendi çözümümü kendim bulmaya karar verdim. Ve kendime 6 ay süre verdim demir değerlerimi referans aralığına çekmek için. Ilk olarak artık kahvaltılarda ve normal hayatımda çay kahve içmiyorum. Eskiden iş yerimde günde 2 fincan türk kahvesi 5-6 bardak çay içiyordum. Çokta sevdiğimden değil. Alışkanlıkmış. Kahvaltılarımda ve ana öğünlerimde peynir ve yoğurt gibi süt ürünlerini çıkarıp onun yerine c vitamini içeren besinler koyacağım.
