Tuesday fashion pills:
Today officially starts the Milan Fashion Week, one of the big four cities of fashion! But when did The international success of Milan start? The invention of an Italian Ready to wear is due to the vision of a gifted designer, who deserves today much more recognition: Walter Albini.
He was the first to initiate a series of innovative reforms in Italian fashion that responded to a changing market. These innovations included freeing the designer from the anonymity of the world of production and treating him as a creator, as in the world of haute couture, and recognizing the need for the fashion industry to provide styles and images and not only clothing, so that it could reach new market segments in a rapidly changing world. Albini worked closely with fabric manufacturers and enhanced the presence of the designer in industrial production. His A/W collection 1971-72 is the birth of The Italian prêt a porter.
It’s always great to connect with fellow Seminoles in the industry. I’m so proud of all the great things the many #FSU alumni have achieved in TV news and beyond. Many thanks to the wonderful @carolynryantv for organizing this rendezvous and allowing me the opportunity to finally wear my FSU bow tie. #Professionoles
