Blue and Gold
DC Rebirth Universe
Part two of Volume II of my DC cinematic universe "rebirth" series.
The year is 2462. Living in 25th century Metropolis, Michael Jon Carter works as a security guard at the Metropolis Space Museum alongside a helpful robot known as Skeets. Dreaming of greatness, Carter and his friend, genius inventor Ted Kord, utilize the available technology to travel back in time to the 21st century and introduce themselves as superhero duo Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. Their antics, while successful, result in some unexpected side effects: Michelle Carter, Michael's sister, introduces herself as her own hero known as Goldstar, and a mysterious time traveling agent known as Rip Hunter emerges. All the while, a mysterious multiplying alien life force, taking the form of a starfish, is released and wrecks havoc in the newly altered timeline. Alongside their new allies, Carter and Kord must put their new technology to use to prevent at the hands of the mind-controlling aliens. (Sorry if this summary is vague and/or convoluted, trying to write a time travel plot is really confusing!) How this film would differentiate itself from other superhero movies, both in this universe and in our real world universes, is that the film would be played like a found footage movie, shot through the eyes of the always-present robot Skeets. I feel like that be a nice little curveball that's also fitting for the characters at hand. The film itself would be very comedic, and character interactions would be a very important aspect of the story.
