My thoughts on Motivation:
This is something that my experiences and observations in life have taught me and whether it's right or not, it's just the way I see it. I have come to realise that if you constantly find yourself needing to seek outside motivation all the time then you aren't truly motivated. Sometimes you need to stop and think clearly and honestly and you might just find that even though you have a goal or a dream to do something, you spend a lot of valuable time chasing what you think are motivational influences. In reality it is probably fear that is stopping you from taking that first step and you comfort yourself by indulging in those so called motivational things.
For example, say your passion is writing and you want to write a novel and you know deep down in your heart that you are more then capable. Instead of diving straight in or literally putting pen to paper, you instead choose to read the work of other people with the same ideas and subject matter. You see this as some form of research and motivation but often what happens is you end up neglecting your own desire to write your own work and you fall into a constant cycle of seeking out more and more "research and motivation", which of course continues to hold you back.
Another example is when you find yourself continually watching other people and although you may be motivated each time you do it, you will have two choices to make: Do I continue to find this temporary motivation and repeat it over and over without doing anything else or do I just get motivated, get up and start whatever I wanted to do?
The constant search for motivation often means you have a fear or two about actually starting something for yourself. If you have a passion or a goal and the spark gets lit, just do it! Just do.
