Becoming your mother has turned me inside out. It has exposed parts of me that I didn’t know existed. It has forever changed my skeletal structure, and continues to be both a thrilling and terrifying ride back into myself. Back to my truth. Back to some kind of ancient knowing. It still blows my mind that I grew you inside of me, and still, you are sustained solely by me. The only nourishment you have had is via my body. This knowing fills me with love, courage, strength and a take me to my knees weakness that I can’t really put words to. Lately I love watching you test your vocal chords and try to find your voice as you yell, squeal and laugh. Please know that I will always hear you. I will always honor your words, even in moments when you can’t find them yourself. I’m training for the Bourbon Chase, but with this run the bourbon chased me! 📸: our 2 year old - Yesterday, we had an exclusive tasting of some hard to find bourbons 🥃, so I was expecting to feel horrible today and have a not so good run, maybe even no run at all! I hopped on the treadmill for 9 miles, then headed out in the rain for the rest, so my husband could get some miles in too while the kiddos slept. It was an unexpected, amazing run! Down 1.4kg of body fat this week, I’m 3 weeks into the #fitterfasterstronger challenge it’s certainly pushing me to my limits! Still mixing my training rotating weights , high and low rep workouts, Hitt sessions and fasted cardio over 5 days, my diet is about 80% good 20% miss piggy 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ Not stressing still seeing results very small mind you! But chipping away everyday! Ladies please remember it takes time there is no such thing a quick fixes it took 9 months of growing to create my little angel that isn’t going to just shift overnight! Remember just because the scales haven’t changed doesn’t mean your body composition hasn’t! I found taking progress pictures not only helpful but it kept me accountable also! First time since starting my postpartum #slimmingworld journey that I am starting to see a difference in how my clothes fit and what I see in the mirror 😊 Definitely some way to go before I feel happy with my size and I’m ALL about the clothes that cover up my mum tum (like this little floral print shirt which is also handy AF for breastfeeding in public 👍🏼) but these first 11lbs off have definitely helped boost my confidence 🙌🏼

PREP🙌 • • • We're having a roast dinner tonight, so I like to be prepared + prep a few things beforehand so that it's not a mad dash in the kitchen later on. The chicken is cooking, the taties are peeled and in cold water ready to put on + I'm just making the gravy so I thought I'd do a post on how I make it. I follow the #mrsmummywrightgravy recipe, but when you actually go onto the tag, it's reaaaaally hard to find it, because not everyone posts in on their picture. So, basically, it's 3 red onions, quartered. Sprinkle over 2 chicken oxos and add a chicken stock pot. Pour over some boiling water, just so the onions are having a nice shallow bath. Then in the oven for an hour. Pull it out + blend with a hand blender. It will be really thick, so just add enough water for the consistency you want. It's syn free, and honestly, so so nice! A proper rich flavour + can be thick if you want (I also like lots of gravy on my dinner so this is perfect). Last gym session in Wales today 👊🏻👊🏻 . I so couldn’t be bothered with the gym today but I knew I wanted to go. I always say if your mind isn’t in the right mindset then you won’t have a productive workout. I didnt want to have to eat my words today, so I came to the gym and jumped on the cross ramp and cross trained until I was pumped for my abs and cardio session 💪🏻🙌🏻. . This photo of me is 21 weeks post partum and I’m so happy with my progress. Just remember that I never made it full term so it’s been easy for me to get back in shape BUT I also worked my arse off in the gym pre pregnancy and during it. This helps your body get back into shape much quicker ✌🏻. I am a true believer that if you want something you need to work at it and I’ve grafted HARD for my fitness, things like this don’t just fall into your lap. . Remember, where ever you are on your fitness journey you’ve worked hard to be there ao don’t give up. If you aren’t quite where you want to be, relax! You’re doing a GREAT job and sometimes we all just need a break, so give yourself one. . After a difficult month leaving Amelia & working at a new job that I wasn’t IN LOVE with... ...after feeling less FULFILLED than ever before, and like I was always in the WRONG PLACE day after day, I decided to do something a little...unconventional. • Together as a family, Bret and I decided that, for now, the place where I am MEANT to be is HOME, & the job that WILL fulfill me in this moment, is being a full time, stay at home mommy. • I say it was an unconventional not because being a SAHM is that, but because it wasn’t for the typical reason of it financially making more sense for my family. I know a lot of ladies (or fellas!!!) stay home with their babies mostly because the cost of daycare deducted from their paycheck wasn’t worth it — so in this sense, we are definitely being unconventional. My nursing income after daycare costs was still a significant chunk of money, so our choice was definitely more of a personal one. I won’t lie, it is a little terrifying to not have guaranteed money coming in every month {personally -obviously the hubs still will}. • Despite this, I know deep in my heart that this is the right choice. I read somewhere from a SAHM that “If it ends up not working out, I can always go back to work, but I can’t get this time back with them..so really, there’s nothing to lose.” I seriously owe so much thanks to one hell of a {VERY supportive} husband, and extremely helpful/supportive family. Dear new mama, It’s OK! I know it’s hard to get back into your fitness routine. Sure, you may be only five pounds away from pre-baby weight just from eating the right foods, but your core strength is basically non existent, and the thought of exercising sounds absolutely terrifying. Not to mention, you’re still up a couple times a night, feeding or soothing your baby back to sleep. I totally understand that physical exertion doesn’t sound appealing because THAT^ is a sneak peak at my life! For months, I focused SOLELY on my nutrition because being a new mom is TOUGH. I mean, it’s hard to even take time for yourself to get a shower in, so how are you supposed to exercise? Your body already aches from carrying around your growing baby ALL. DAY.LONG, so what’s the point of doing more work? Believe me when I say, I HEAR YOU. I FEEL YOU. I wholeheartedly understand. And because of this reason, and because I CARE for you...I’m going to tell you straight up to STOP this way of thinking. It’s been almost five months of being like this for me, and my emotional health suffered because of it. Anxiety literally loomed around every corner, often times randomly and for no good reason. So, when my husband told me this evening to “go do some yoga” because “you need to take care of you, too” I hesitated for a moment, my old thoughts tripping me up for a second, and then realized HE WAS RIGHT!!! And OH MY GOSH you guys, let me tell ya —it may have just been a 20 minute upper body sesh, but I seriously feel more ALIVE right now than I have in MONTHS. Self care is critical, mama. Don’t forget to fill your cup, too 💗
