From not-so-subtly trying to rub away the *throbbing* pain in my shin after track in November, to pretending I was flying round the @eastlondonhalf at the weekend (disclaimer: was definitely shuffling/waddling and not flying ๐Ÿ˜‚)
.
It was a funny few months off running, but I got a LOT of positives out of it which Iโ€™ve shared on my latest blog post (link in bio). Let me know what you think, especially if you have been, or are going through, injury or time off from training ๐Ÿค•

@runthroughuk thank you guys, and thanks for such an incredible event on Sunday! SO appreciate all your hard work to organise it, and it made it all the more special to be coming back properly at one of your events <3 xx - 7 days ago

Aww thanks @fitcetera ! It was pretty weird to get used to for the first 5-10 mins of the run where your body is trying to adjust to less weight but it quickly adapts. Such a cool experience and I'm really grateful I got the chance to try it, especially so early on in my recovery period! Thank you lovely xx - 7 days ago

Great post! I used to love spin classes... theyโ€™re definitely great for cross training ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ And that anti gravity treadmill must have been awesome - was it a weird feeling? Iโ€™m intrigued! Youโ€™re so right though, attitude makes the biggest difference and itโ€™s not like our lives are impacted massively by injury, so focusing on the positives is the best way! Glad to see youโ€™re back smashing it though ๐Ÿ˜Š - 7 days ago

@mr_wongo awww thanks chuck! Totally agree with you on all of the above. Nice just to take a bit of the stress and pressure off and just be grateful to be able to run at all! So good to see you running so well after all the injuries and time out youโ€™ve had lately too, keep it up! - 7 days ago

@jo.runs.n.stuff glad you are on the mend. Love following your story!! Uve done great!
    ...
Having had (and still have) injuries i know what you went through. And running till i could run no more.
I personally found it humbling being out injured... you take stock, and when you come back i found i didnt put any pressure on myself to run quick ... i was just glad to run ... particularly when i had Chicago on the radar.
    ...
Also (sounding really old here...) ive kinda resigned myself to the fact that as im getting older, im going to take longer to come back, and that my injury resilience is not going to be like that of 3-4 years ago.
    ...
Makes you want to enjoy the times for what they are ... i felt very grateful just to be running again. Youโ€™ll feel a renewed and more relaxed sense of being you Jo.
Enjoy, and keep smiling ๐Ÿ˜€ - 7 days ago
