Doune the rescued raccoon having a fun time with my sister 😝 - Doune is a rescue that an SPCA called me to pick up, her along with 4 other little raccoons at the time were only 3 weeks old and being bottlefed. The other raccoons went to others (with federal permits!) and doune stays with @xgoatyx - tomorrow she will be going for her vaccines, and I'll be watching her for the weekend :3. If you find an animal you think is lost/injured, call a rehab or wildlife officer to seek aid on getting the animal to someone who owns federal permits. Doune is under a federal permit, which allows us to care for her.

@kairi_wolfart yeah ours are federal permits too. Have to go to the courthouse and everything. But things like coons, skunk etc. Only require a fee here. Exotic animals or birds of prey can only be owned for educational purposes though and have more requirements. - 29 days ago

@beni.chi perhaps in your state/province/country. But other places do require certain permits that allows people to own these animals, over here is required federal permits - 1 month ago

It's easy to be able to own raccoons, foxes etc. Its just signing a form and a small fee to pay. We had a pet raccoon when I was younger that had been orphaned and left alone on a friend's farm. We took it in and the other 2 babes went to other homes. He was naughty but a great pet lol - 1 month ago
