I've been on a BATMAN FOREVER kick lately and I think this movie seriously gets way too much hate.

Sure, it is flawed and there are instances where the dialogue is dodgy and I personally can't stand the infamous nipples on the Batsuit and the characterization (or lack there of) of Two-Face, but shots like the one I am posting just brilliantly sum up the Batman character and kind of make up for what's not there in terms of quality in the writing.

From a visual stand point, BATMAN FOREVER is infinitely more fun and exciting than the Nolan films.

What do you guys think ?

Yeah, she has to put up with a lot being my friend, like the weird crush I have on the penguin...:P I am literally the Harley Quinn to his Joker @burtonsgotham - 2 years ago

@cobblepotter oh, I see. Considering I grew up on stuff like The Terminator, Alien and RoboCop, amongst the others, I still can't wrap my head around the fact I get freaked out big time by The Crow. It just makes me feel uncomfortable. So, I kinda get where she's coming from. - 2 years ago

@burtonsgotham She is almost 18 and she was so freaked out by Batman Returns when we were watching it together that she almost left the room. She has a particular problem with even minor double entendres in general but especially in Batman Returns, whereas I think they are/were hilarious. She literally only just got over the violence in Lord of the Rings. - 2 years ago

@cobblepotter What do you mean by "overconservative"? - 2 years ago

It was hilarious, I don't know why there is so much hate for it. The actors were amazing and it was a perfect mix of the first two movies. Plus, it's one of the few Batman movies I can watch with my overconservative friends, so that's another reason why it's so likeable for me...@burtonsgotham - 2 years ago

I actually quite like Batman Forever. My only real problem with it is Two-Face. Tommy Lee Jones doesn't seem to know what to do with the character and he is one of my favorite villains. - 2 years ago

@zacharyjacksonbrownart Exactly! You hit the nail on the head perfectly there. If I could describe Forever in one word, it would be 'unabashed'. I think it gets a lot more right than it gets wrong. 🙂 - 2 years ago

@burtonsgotham Agreed. It's a lot more rewatchable 👍🏻 The Nolan movies, as much as I love them, took realism a step too far. What I love about Forever is how it embraces the more 'comic book' aspects and really captures the essence (for the most part) and looks of the characters. I love how Two Face can be walking around in a two-tone suit and there's no convoluted explanation for it - it just is. 🙂 - 2 years ago

I loved it as a kid. It's still good as an adult but below the burton movies and the Nolan films - 2 years ago

@sfa_uk exactly. The Nolan films are nowhere near as rewatchable as Forever. - 2 years ago

I've always been a fan of Forever. It's such a great, fun movie with a simple but effective story. It really evokes the spirit of the comics at the time, and really embraces the off-beat looks of the characters. I personally think it hit the perfect balance between fun/campy and serious - especially with (as others have mentioned) the deleted scenes incorporated in. - 2 years ago

I'd rather watch the Schumacher films than the dark knight rises. - 2 years ago

The out of costume scenes are really great. On par with Nolan's films - 2 years ago

@burtonsgotham from what I've searched, it could be a lot better. Some people said they'd dubbed some scenes for the cut we saw make more sense. By the way, I'm I the only one who is curious about what could have been Batman Triumphant and DarKnight? Excluding the part of Harley being the Joker's daughter, it seems to have some good ideas there. - 2 years ago

@diegoaaf96 me, too ! The "Red Book" edition is said to be a vast improvement on the cut we got. - 2 years ago
