Mallari is an invocatory piece in which the dancers offer their art during a procession or to the presiding deity of that particular temple. It is a passage of Sollukattus set to certain Raga (usually Nattai, Gambhira Nattai) and Thalam. It is executed in three speeds, in Chatushram or Tisra Nadai.
