Crater Lake in Iceland
Our next stop was to the Krafla caldera, located in northern Iceland. Most notably, this caldera contains a crater (Víti) filled with beautiful tourquoise water which was formed as a result of a massive volcanic eruption. The caldera is still an active volcanic area, so there are many steaming vents and craters scattered throughout (which also means that the area smelled like one giant fart). A tour guide even mentioned that they were due for an eruption soon 😱🌋
